Head of Social Protection Secretariat | ||||
Stephen is a widely experienced Planning Economist having practiced and risen through the ranks of Senior Economist, Principal Economist and Assistant Commissioner (Planning) in the Ministry of Gender, Labour & Social Development. A holder of B.Sc (Economics) of Makerere University and MSc (Agricultural Economics) of the University of Reading (UK), Stephen has also undertaken training in various areas, including; designing and implementing social transfers, negotiation, mainstreaming social protection, introducing the social protection agenda in operations and economic sector work, among others. Until his appointment to head the ESP Secretariat in March 2011, Stephen was the Assistant Commissioner (Planning) in the Ministry of Gender, Labour & Social Development; a position in which he was head of the Ministry’s Planning and Policy Division in the Ministry. Stephen Barrett is a Social Protection policy and programming specialist with wide experience in design and implementation of large-scale social assistance programmes. Ian is a UK chartered accountant (FCA) with experience of reviewing, implementing and running financial systems in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Guyana, Uganda, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan and Rwanda as well as in the UK. District Liason Officer- Karamoja | ||||
Michael Ocero Ogola is one of the District Liaison Officers for the Programme. He is a an round professional with diverse skills and competencies. Mr Ocero started his career with EU/Karamoja Projects Implementation Unit (KPIU) where he conducted community needs assessment using participatory rural appraisal techniques to assess the training and/or material requirements of selected projects. He also organized and supervised community training with the view of creating moral, behavioral and attitudinal change of the Karimojong communities towards development programs. |
